Over on our YouTube channel we’re trying to get ourselves to our first milestone of 1000 subscribers. To that end we’ve decided to run a competition to try and boost our numbers.
How to enter
Subscribe to our YouTube channel
Follow our Twitter account
We need both because we can’t always see the names of our YouTube subscribers, so when we choose our winner it’ll be a combination of Twitter and YouTube.
If you already subscribe or follow us then you’ll be included in the draw already (as long as we can see your name).
About the Nintendo Virtual Boy
You can get a full description here but in summary the Virtual Boy was Nintendo’s attempt to make a ‘handheld’ devoted to 3D. Unfortunately, the 3D didn’t work well and the device wasn’t really handheld (it required a stand and a table). Nintendo were so sure of the Virtual Boy before release that they actually planned a North American date just after the Japanese one. This was fairly unheard of at the time and, unfortunately, just compounded the eventual failure.
The Virtual Boy is a fascinating device, using it for a few minutes will show you the reasons why it failed and it’s a glorious example of technology beating common sense.
